The Home Depot: Bath Aisle Refresh

the home depot: Bath Aisle Refresh

The Home Depot wanted to create a different way of educating do-it-yourselfers on how to buy bathtubs and showers. Associates found that customers had a hard time understand what parts they needed to customize for their purchase, which usually lead to multiple trips back to the store. After brainstorming with one of the art directors on my team, we came up with a new product card design that we believed would help make shopping experience easier.

Process

After searching ideas online and visiting competitors like Lowes, we came to the conclusion that creating a single 25.5" x 11" product card that would rest on the display in the aisle would be the best course of action. Along with key bullet points, packaging icons that corresponded with the products in the aisle were incorporated along with additional icons based on The Home Depot's new brand standards.

In order to create a more simplistic look, we eliminated things like the shower diagram and the numbered step process, which helped increase the size of the viable information, giving things a cleaner look and much easier to read.

To accommodate additional parts of certain shower vendors, the size of the card doubled in height and installed in a rack frame next to the display.
